Gratitude journals are key to adopting a positive mindset. If you are anything like me, positivity and gratitude are skills that don’t come naturally. 2. Humidifier
Getting enough good quality sleep is also essential to overall wellness. Often times, our skin can become dry overnight. A humidifier is a simple solution to ensure you wake up with dewy, more moisturised skin. The benefits I have found from using a humidifier in my bedroom this winter have been endless. I wake up without dry, cracked nostrils, my eczema isn’t as severe, and I actually sleep better!
You also don’t need a super fancy humidifier to get the job done! As long as it is quiet and dispenses the steam in the air all night long, you will see the benefits.
Amazon offers a ton of options for quality humidifier options. Just pick the one that suits you and your lifestyle!
3. Spearmint Tea
If you are anything like me, a crippling caffeine addiction has taken a strangle hold in your life post-college. To combat the constant need for a cup of coffee, I’ve turned to non-caffeinated tea alternatives for when I am craving a hot drink. Specifically, spearmint tea is a great addition to your daily self care routine. Spearmint tea is thought to lower blood pressure, aid with digestive health, and support relaxation. PLUS, it is full of antioxidant goodness.
Your 20’s are an amazing opportunity to explore different, healthier alternatives to foods and beverages. Being mindful of what you are putting in your body is one of the ultimate forms of self love.
I personally LOVE this spearmint tea linked below from Amazon, usually with some. honey in it!
4. Candles
A top-tier necessity for self care is candles, duh! Scented candles help me get into the right headspace for self care activities. Whether it is meditating, reading, or journaling, the right scented candle can take the experience to the next level. Essential oil infused candles can also reduce stress and promote relaxation.
I love candles from White Barn too. In my experience, they are super long lasting and smell strong until the very end!
5. A Comfy Robe
If you are stepping into an era of respecting and loving yourself you have to look the part. A comfy robe can make a nightly skin care routine fun and luxurious. The main character energy you need for sipping your coffee. and picking out your outfit can also be found with the right robe. Girl quit wearing around your towel and step into the sophisticated woman you are!
6. Supplements for Sleep
Sleep is THE number one contributor to an overall healthy lifestyle. It promotes weight management, stress reduction, immune health, and mental clarity.
Some different sleep supplements I recommend are:
- L-Theanine
- Melatonin
- Velarian Root
MY fiance is currently addicted to drinkable, sleep supplements that combine all of these amazing sleep supporters! And, honestly, the convenience factor. alone is pretty game changing. The Liquid IV Sleep Multiplier combines these supplements while also boosting hydration.
7. Under Eye Masks
To help with under eye puffiness and to wake up your face in the morning, under eye masks are miracle workers. They naturally wake up your eyes and leave you looking refreshed. Hydrate, refresh, and renew, in literally 20 minutes or less. These are my automatic confidence boosters when I am not feeling great in the morning.
8. Exfoliating Body Scrub
Self care should take a holistic approach. That’s why products that make you feel good AND look good at the same time, are the holy grail. My everything shower does not exist without using body scrub. My skin feels so smooth and exfoliated after and it removes dead skin cells and rejuvenates skin. If you continue to moisturise and have dry, flakey. skin, this could be something to look into adding to your routine!
9. Body Lotion
Investing in a good lotion can tremendously improve your self care routine. When looking for good lotion, I look for several different things:
- Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
- A good consistency (not too thick or too thin)
- Not too much added scents (can be irritating)
This is an item that will take some trial and error to find the right one for your skin type. For instance, my skin is acne prone, dry, and sensitive. I look for body lotions that offer moisturising benefits WITHOUT clogging my pores. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion is top tier for sensitive skin girlies who still want to feel pampered.
10. Face Masks
Face masks are always a must for my self care reset days. At least once or twice a week I try to do a face mask. My overall skin texture has improved since incorporating face masks into my. self care routine. My skin does tend to be dry, so I will not use a face mask more than twice a week. For oilier skin, you can use them more often. Following up with a good face moisturiser (With sunscreen!) is also important to see the benefits of most masks. I personally like clay masks, rather than sheet masks. Just because I think they are more affective at deep exfoliation and the application process is much more fun!
I use a variety of different clay masks depending on how my skin is feeling in that moment:
- Deep Sea Mud Mask (deeply exfoliating but may be drying)
- Green Tea Clay Mask (Poor reduction and skin firming)
- Rose Clay Mask (Super Moisturizing)
- Vitamin C/Turmeric Clay Mask (Skin brightening)
A variety pack of masks can help get into the groove of what your skin benefits from the most!
11. An Alarm Clock
This one may seem out of left pocket, but hear me out. Using our phones right before bed can impact our quality of sleep. Putting your phone and other electronics away at least two hours before going to bed can improve your sleep. How can we avoid using our phone before we sleep if we have to set an alarm? SIMPLE: use an alarm clock. This simple hack is well worth the switch to the old fashion alarm clock!
I promise you don’t need anything fancy, I am literally recommending the most basic alarm clock you can think of. While you can splurge for fancier options, a cheaper option will absolutely do the trick!
12. Epsom Salts
A self care day is not complete without a bath! Epsom salts are MAGIC for sore and aching muscles. Whenever I have a long workout or pull a muscle, epsom salts are always added to my bath. They also moisturise and soften skin, so it really is a comprehensive addition to your self care! Dr. Teals is the well-known brand of epsom salts, but I’ve also tried the Equate Brand Epsom Salts from Walmart and think they work equally as well!

If you want to transform into your highest, most successful self, it’s time to start showing up as her. Would she go to sleep wearing the same oversized t-shirt she’s worn since freshman year of college? NO she is sophisticated and knows the importance of feeling good in what she wears.
The INSTANT confidence boost of a matching pajama set speaks for itself.

Hydration is the self care life hack that benefits everything. If you’re anything like me, you don’t wake up super motivated to drink water. A cute water bottle helps motivate me to stay hydrated throughout the day. The recommended amount of water for an adult is six to eight 8-ounce glasses.
